Dear Friend, You are cordially invited to attend the August 21st opening reception of the Berlin Airlift exhibit at the Indiana War Memorial in Opening reception at 12:00 pm on August 21, 2009 The “Friends Always” travelling exhibit titled “The Berlin Airlift – A Legacy of Friendship” will be on display at the Indiana War Memorial in Opening Ceremony of Friends Always in With a little bit over 100 guests in attendance the openeing ceremony for the Friends Always exhibit was a success. Followed by a short introduction, the Indianapolis Maennerchor sung the In addition Mayor Ballard presented a proclamation from the City of July 08 2009: Fridays dinner will benefit the "Lutheran Child & Family Service". The display will continue through Saturday the 12th. The CAF will provide a pancake breakfast to benefit the Jackson Center for Cerebral Palsy on Saturday Morning. For tickets to the dinner, please contact Mr. Carl Winkler at: May 01 2009: “Friends Always” Germany and the U.S. commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift The years 2008 and 2009 mark the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, one of the most important dates in the history of U.S.-German friendship. The German Embassy has made the commemoration of the Berlin Airlift a focus of its outreach activities. Their motto for the 60th Anniversary is: “Friends Always”. In 1948, the Soviets blocked the western portion of During the Airlift, the aircraft supplied the city with 700 tons a day in June 1948 to 12,940 tons daily by April 1949. Today, Mr. Sven Schumacher, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany to Indiana, and Mr. Martin Baier, Project Manager for Friends Always in Indiana were guests at the radio show to talk about the history of the Berlin Airlift and the upcoming events in Indiana.
Jeff Cardwell, founder and president of the People Helping People Network, together with co-host Jerry Sargent, runs a great radio show that features good news, information and interviews with people who are making a positive difference locally, statewide, nationally and around the world.

Commemorative Air Force (CAF), Indiana Wing is announcing a dinner event commemorating the Berlin Airlift:
"The Berlin Airlift - A Legacy of Friendship" is supported by the German Embassy and German Consulates across the United States as part of the "Friends Always" campaign. The exhibit features stunning historic black-and-white photos and will be on display at Indianapolis Executive Airport on September 11th & 12th of 2009 sponsored by the Commemorative Air Force.
The Museum will be on display during the Friday dinner dance featuring the Star Lighters 16 piece swing band.
